While Id love to have a taurus collection (and a RotoRolla collection) i cant afford either.....well i suppose i could, but they arnt that high on my list.

That particular gun is a hard pass...
My 692s a keeper tho.

From the listing:
Up for auction is a rare factory mistake Taurus 856 38 Special cal. 6 shot revolver. The Taurus 856 is designed/manufactured to have a 2 inch barrel. This barrel is approximately 4 inches. The 2 extra inches on the barrel is unfinished and wasn't off to the 2 inch length as specified. The barrel is rifled the full length and has the front sight mounted at the 2 inch mark. The revolver is new in the factory box marked as a 2 inch revolver.

Less than an hour left and zero bids. Makes me wonder what else slips past quality control if that can.

If a factory mistake makes a Taurus rare and valuable then there are a lot of rare and valuable Taurus guns running around out there. And I like Taurus. Never had a bad one. But I have seen photos of some real factory screw ups before. They happen and Taurus lets them get out of the door.

Kinda like asking if there are any car collectors who focus on Toyota Corollas........:D
Nightlord,

I remember one Taurus 83 that I imported from Germany that had Hammerli Tiengen markings on it that was as perfect as a revolver can be and was everything so many post 1970 S&W revovlers fail to be.

The seller (FFL) probably put it on GB because he didn't want the headache of returning it to Taurus. He figured somebody might jump on it if it was described as "rare"
