It's been a long time coming but I was finally able to make it happen. It wasn't an easy decision either but sometimes you have to follow your gut instincts. Thank God I have an understanding wife. Full range report and some good pics to follow. I think I might have set some sort of record because the shipping was $190 from CA.

People throw around terms like "grail gun" pretty freely these days, mostly I'm less than impressed with what they turn out to be... A grail gun should be epic, a once in a lifetime splurge or acquisition, otherwise it's just another gun. Since you're leading us on like this, I hope it's worth the buildup...

Im thinking your pocket book plays the biggest role in individual "grail guns"? A kid flipping burgers for min. wage certainly has a different dream gun than someone making 6 figures.

My Grail Guns will remain unobtainable...
A) ones far too expensive (Colt Walker)
B) one would require me to be a SOT. (F2000)

Sure I could buy copies of each but they are not really the same thing...

Fortunately for me, there are about 300 guns on my 'grail' list, so it doesn't usually take me long to land one.

Unfortunately, my "Holy Grail" gun is a moving target. As soon as I get it, another pops up takes its place.

My ultimate would be a Glock 18. If I could find one.

My Grail polymer would have to be my H&K Mark 23 45 ACP.

My grail Revolver would have to be my Trifecta of Colt Pythons in 6, 4, and 8" barrels.

Is there a gun that launches actual grails for projectiles?

Maybe that's what he is talking about.

That's a lot. Insurance on a Korth or freight on a 40mm Bofors? ::eek::
That is not that expensive consider it's going from ********** to New York. Interestingly the 'Street Sweeper' was legal in NY and not in VA when I used to live there.

I agree with that. However, when I think of a "grail", it's the subject of a long, difficult search, not simply saving enough money to run down to the local store and pick up the flavor-of-the-week Glock or Sig or whatever they decided they needed six months earlier.

I suppose my expectations are too high. If someone says they finally got their "holy grail" of firearms, I expect it to at least be interesting (history, nostalgia, design and so forth) or a little rare (condition, expense, legal restrictions, low numbers of production and so on).

People can call whatever they want as their grail gun, my expectations concerning the phrase should have no bearing on that whatsoever. I'm super happy they managed to pick up something they've badly wanted. However, I always hope when I open some thread about a grail gun, I can say "wow! that's pretty cool!" rather than just "oh ok"...

My Holy Grail revolver is a NIB 4" or 6" Royal Blue Python. Very nice. Very accurate. Very expensive.
My Holy Grail autoloader? Hmm. C96 Mauser in excellent condition. in the original 7.63mm Mauser.
That and something like a Gold Cup National Match. Maybe a nice P08.

Maybe one like this. Made in Texas! Good ammo is hard to find. :) It is a 12 shot semi-auto.

This thread is useless, period.

Start a new one when you have something to show & tell. Teaser threads are a waste of space.
