But what if the Rifle already HAS a name?

Almost all of my old military rifles have TOLD me their names. It's weird, but it's true. My Garand is "Annie". I couldn't come up with a name for the longest time, then, one day I decided that the trigger group needed to be detail stripped and cleaned. I had never done this to this particular rifle before, but by the time I had the trigger group reasembled, I "KNEW" her name.

My Ross told me her name just as I carried her through the front door into my house for the first time. I "knew" the name of my Lee Enfield #1 MkI*** after talking to the guy I bought her from on the phone BEFORE I ever saw or handled the rifle.

When you get your Garand, just take her apart for a thurough cleaning and just relax and clear your mind. You might be surprised.
