I need to know some opinions on Beretta 92FS models.

I have the opportunity to buy one practically brand new for $475.

No known issues, with box, and two mags.

How's that price? Is this something I should pursue? I'll be using for fun shooting and some USPSA stuff.

Thanks for your time!

I just shot mine today, put 15 rounds just about through the same hole in the target at 15 yards, I am not kidding. When you shoot one you will think, Yeah, that's the way it oughta be. Great guns! Accurate, reliable and smooth.

That's a good price I'd say if it's like-new. I got my M9 brand new for $519, and I thought that was a good price. I often see them for around $550-$580. I could tell you all about how awesome of a gun it is, but you'd probably find a lot more by searching. Reliable, tough, accurate.

I'd only buy that gun if it is really, truly like-new, however. By adding a few bucks more you could go brand new.

I just bought one brand new for $499. So I would think that a like new for $475 isn't bad. However, I think you could probably find a used one a bit cheaper if you just waited and looked around. Still, a decent price and a great gun.

I paid $520 for my brand new 9 mm 92FS. Blued version.I have around 500 rounds thru this gun without one problem. Because of the performance of the 92FS I bought 3 more Beretta's. Two 3032 Tomcat's black and one P4-Storm in the 45 caliber and it will be blued version. I really like the Beretta.

Used to have a 92FS, lots of fun to shoot, accurate, felt perfect in my hand. Get it, I doubt you'll regret it.

I used to have a 92FS.
I traded it off for a BHP.
I prefer this:

I like having the option of cocked and locked!!

grip is big, trigger is hard to reach with small hands.

safety is hard to manipulate without shifting your grip.

imo

92s are great 9mm pistols. I've had mine for about 10 years now. Surplus mags are cheap and plentiful now, even factory mags are within reason.

Awhile back Cheaper than dirt was selling 96G uppers(slide, barrel, and mag) for about $200. It drops right on the 92 frame and the mags fit perfectly. You can have 40cal or just drop your 9mm barrel in the 96 slide for 9mm. You cannot however use the 40cal barrel in the 9mm slide.

Cool, thanks for the info... I figure I'll get it, shoot it, see if I like it, and either keep it, or trade/sell it. Beretta is pretty reliable, so I don't worry in that department. And I don't really worry about the resale either. Hopefully it's not too big because I do have small hands (4' 11") but like I said, I'll try to snatch it up just to have. I know plenty of people who'd take it from me if I wanted to pass on it later.

I contacted the seller. Pretty sure I am getting it! :D

Thanks again!

Go for it, they are great pistols. I have small hands for a male and I find that it fits very well in my hand. Beautiful guns too.

This is what it looks like in relatively small male hands...not really a problem for me.

Bought mine new last Dec. for $429.99 (plus tax), including three, new factory magazines from my local dealer. Unless your used pistol purchase is significantly cheaper than a new pistol, I don't think it's a good idea to forfeit the factory warranty for a few dollars in savings.
