Does anyone have a sp09 in 9mm and if so what do you think? Are there better options for the money, i.e. the EAA Witness, Sig p250, or others. Thanks.

I have the P07, which is the mid size version of the P09. It's been fantastic. It's as accurate as anything else I own and has been completely reliable. I love CZ's ergonomics, and for under $500 it's a great bargain. It's definitely one of my keepers. I've never owned an EAA, so I can't speak to how the CZ compares to it.

The SIG P250 is a DA only pistol. The SIG SP2022 is DA/SA and also a great choice in the under $500 range.

I'd look at the CZ-P07, the SIG P2022, or the new SIG P320. The Glock 19 is also an option.

The Witness guns are bigger, heavier, and if you ever think you might want to do concealed carry, they're not your best choice.

With ANY of these guns you don't need to buy NEW, as they tend to be almost trouble free.

I, unfortunately, can't find any used CZ's in my area. That was the main reason I was looking at Sigs. I don't want the da only so I'll take a look at the 2022 and 320. Thanks.

The reviews I have read on the CZPO9 were only positive. My friend also has one and siad that it was the softest and most accurate shootign 9mm pistol he has every fired. The price is also very reasonable. It also carries 20 rounds.

I've shot a friends. It's nice, but a little big for my tastes. I like my Sig 2022 much better. The Sig has a much better trigger, and is, I think, a better size. Although you do give up a couple rounds.

You might look at FN's FNX as well. It's a nice entry in this basic class of pistols.

I've had P09 for a year and half. Absolutely no issues with it what so ever. I've put all kinds of ammo through it and everything went bang. Sturdy construction, easy takedown and maintenance. It holds 19 +1, I have to see a downside.

I have had a P-07 for about 10 months and a P-09 for about six months and they are both great guns.
I have done some polishing and added some performance parts to both and have been shooting them in some gun game competitions.

I have never had a malfunction with either one and have put a good many rounds down range.

Some of the best "sleeper" guns out there that no one knows about.

I recently picked up a used p-09. I haven't put more than 200 rds through it yet, but at this point i am liking it more than my Glock 34. I did get to shoot it alongside my buddies Sig p320. For a more compact setup, the 320 compact was definitely the nicer option. My buddy also brought out his 226 and 227. The broken in trigger on the p-09 was good, but the stock sigs were a little better. Overall, I don't think you will be disappointed with the cz, they're awesome!

I've had my p-09 since last Sept....it's been a beast so far. Close to 4k rounds without one issue so far, most all those reloads. Well made, accurate, night sights for 539 bucks.

Mine is the FDE version....just wish magazines were less expensive.

I have a P09 in FDE and it's my beater trail gun. When I'm riding my dual sport motorcycle on the trail it sits in a holster on the tank of the bike. I got it so I could have a pistol that I won't be unhappy to get dirty. It's a sweet shooter and haven't had a problem with it.

I owned P09 for a few months....it was flawless and a pleasure to shoot. Probably the softest shooting 9mm I've felt. It is big, so with my hands I had to change grip to operate all controls (which is ultimately why i parted with it) and I did not like the da/sa....I'm used to Dao strikers. ...I did like being able feel where the hammer was positioned when it was holstered tho.

I bought the P09 about 4 months ago for $496 out the door and have put 1100 rounds through it without any problems. It is a great gun - accurate , easy to take down and clean, great triggers, and well made. It is a keeper.

The ONLY problem with my P09 is the cost of mags, they are about 45 bucks.

Standard full-size (and compact) Mec-Gar CZ mags work in the P-07, and I suspect full-size Mec-Gar mags for the CZ-75B MIGHT work in the P-09, too. You might check around. The standard CZ mag tubes* are a bit thinner but seem to work fine. For use at the range, etc., that'll give you mags that work but hold a round or two less, yet cost about half as much.

I have a Sphinx SDP, and found that the Canik Stingray-C 9mm (with a minor trim to the top of the plastic baseplate) works beautifully in the compact Sphinx, and the trim wouldn't be required in the compact P-07. I don't know if there's a full-size Canik Stingray or similar CZ-based gun, but if there is it'll probably be a perfect fit. (Canik makes other full-size guns and 18-round mags, and there may be compatible options there, as well.) J&G Sales sells the compact mags for the Canik Stingray-c for $24.95. You'll have to ask around about full-size options.

*until I edited THAT, it said "rounds" -- don't know where that came from, but I was probably thinking of tube size... (Duh.)

For me, I sold my P-09 because the grip is weirdly oval shaped. Even with the small backstrap, the grip was thing but long across and oval. Not 100% comfortable for that reason. Not the amount of grip, the shape of it.

I also didn't find the trigger all that amazing compared to a PPQ or P99. I also am accustom to a "breaking point" that you can feel vs. the P-09's smooth all the way through.

The Double Action is about 10,000 pounds, so it doesn't matter that it is smooth.:D
