I'm real close to buying a Smartcarry for a Glock G17 or a CZ-75B. But I thought I would ask for opinions of this holster before I shell out bucks for it. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I carry a Kahr PM9 in mine. Best deep cover carry method I've found. That said, I couldn't imagine carrying a G17 in one, unless I was wearing really baggy sweatpants. Barrel length is an important factor in determining how comfortable the Smartcarry will be.

I've got a ThunderWear, which is the original the SmartCarry was modeled after.

It stays in the drawer almost all the time. My main complaints are that it requires at least a quick release waistband to get to your gun, and it requires two hands as well.

Just as personal preference, having a gun under your pants over your bladder takes some getting used to. I find it uncomfortable, especially when sitting.

Finally, my CCW draw method is to stealthily bring my gun into the confrontation instead of doing a bit of a spastic dance to get to it much less draw it.

In fairness to the design, my mode of dress isn't optimal for the holster, and I'm not willing to accomodate it accordingly.

YMMV

I carry a SP101 3" in mine without a problem. Nobody knows I'm carrying. It takes a little practice to learn to draw but the website and info that comes with the holster teaches you well.

I 'm also altered mine to use as a under the ribs cross draw holster.

I've carried a revolver in thunderwear, but I'd want to do a LOT of UNLOADED practice before I felt comfortable carrying a Glock in one. FWIW.

Won't ever wear one after I saw a picture of a cop who blew off a testicle with his off-duty.Something about putting a loaded gun next to "my boys" that gives me the chills.

I like mine!

I've been wearing a Smartcarry around the house with either a G30 or G27, and love it. No printing, comfortable, and functional, especially under sweats. Quality is excellent, very well made, very nice overall. I can wear it under my standard Levi's or BDUs too without any problem. If you're one of those that wear skin-tight Wranglers you might want to get a bigger pair of pants though. :neener:

A G19 (I have one but haven't tried it in the Smartcarry) might be a bit big depending on your body size, but since they make Smartcarry for any sized piece, you should be good to go.

The guy that runs Smartcarry is a great guy, very customer-focused and pleasant to deal with. I think I'll buy a Smartcarry for my wife too.

I have a G19 and G26. The G26 is a much better fit in my SmartCarry. I still haven't figured out how to reholster after drawing. Also, don't wear a gun belt. It is too stiff. You can't draw at all. You need a fairly narrow and non-rigid belt or no belt.

As it is winter, I'm sticking with my IWB until I get more comfortable drawing and reholstering with the SmartCarry.
