I would stay away from the BSA red dot you linked to. A friend of mine bought one for his AR and only used it once before getting rid of it. The dot was quite fuzzy at 100 yards he said. Take a look at the Russian Kobra sight if you are looking for a red dot. Well made, good price, and made specifically for the AK. They also have a selector switch for several different reticles including the chevron which is a big plus in my book. You can find them here:

Since you have never seen what it's like to look through a red dot......take a look at the demo on Aimpoint's website. It should give you a good idea. (Just say yes when it asks you to install the Active X player.)

So are red dots sucky on ak's or just the one i posted ..I would rather have some sort of red dot then a regular scope but if they suck i will stay far from them. Thanks guys

I own a Kobra that uses the AA batteries. I enjoy it and have no problems with it. It was deisnged to be used by Russian military forces and it has been used in action in Chechnya. Some people that have had problems have had them because they did not understand the system. If purchased from Tantal, he stands behind everything, and others on these boards can help you with the installation and such. There are adjustments that are simple to do once shown how on how to mate the mount to the rifles particular rail, and it just involves the tightening adjustment. There are also a couple of websites, both accessible from Tantals site, on how to easily perform the adjustments.
