Won't get it for a couple weeks I guess, but I put a deposit on a:

Mark XIX Desert Eagle .44 mag

:)

Can't wait...going to definitly be fun....


(This was probally the fourth or fifth gun I decided that I wanted this month, so I finally went and put down a deposit before I again changed my mind. :))
 
Congrats! ;) But if you hadn't procrastinated, you'd be getting ready to pick up your 5th gun this month! :neener:

heh, perhaps I wasn't too clear...didn't mean I already bought 4 guns this month(I'd be broke at that rate lol), just that I kept changing what I wanted...started with a G20, then Razorback, then USP45c...heh :)

Congrats! Your list looks like mine in a lot of ways. I have a glock 20 on order now, I have a USPc 40 in the safe, I'd love a Razorback, and I'm looking for a DE in .50 AE. Let us know how the .44 shoots.

I just started the paperwork on mine today!!!

What finish did you get?
 
just the standard blued finish :(
$180 for a different finish seemed slightly steep
 
Don't fret; I got the same finish.

Actually, that decision was made for me; it's the only one currently CommunistAlifornia legal. :cuss:

I was torn between the standard black and one of the various nickels or chromes, but decided on the black. I just prefer it a bit for some reason...

I've actually never seen the blued in person, so I hope it looks good. :)

another week and a half and I hope to have it, did you also order the .44 or go all out for the .50 ae?

As you can see from JG's excellent pic, the standard blued finish is, IMO, gorgeous.

The various flavors of chrome and nickel are very nice too, but the black makes it seem even more ominous, IMO. Though a .50 cal hole is pretty ominous no matter what color the barrel around it is!:what: :D

I pick mine up on 12/3, so we're expecting our babies (giants?) about the same time. :)

I was forced to get the .44; the .50 is no longer legal for sale new. However, I can buy a .50 that is already in the state, and can also buy the .50 bbl. (Which I plan to do at some point.) They sure showed me. :rolleyes: :banghead:

Grayrock: Shows you the brilliance that is the anti-gun mentality; the .50 caliber, 300+ grain bullet travelling at what, close to or over 2,000 FPS isn't really lethal; the shiny nickel or chrome-plated finish is the REAL baby-killer here... :rolleyes: *sigh*

Here's a tip; the standard sites suck. Instead of ponying up $75 for new sites, just paint them yourself with some model paint. This guy in this thread did a great job: http://pub64.ezboard.com/fthedeserteaglefrm1.showMessage?topicID=2652.topic
 
I have a DE .50 in black, blued just isn't a real accurate term ;)

I chronoed full power H110 reloads out of the 6" barrel (Speer 325 GDHP) at 1300 FPS. The "light" loads I make that will barely cycle the slide and lock open on the magazine clock at 1100 FPS. Still a lot of energy for a pistol. Especially an automatic.

I picked up a .44 barrel for mine to make it less expensive to shoot.
