So I’ve been a Kramer man exclusively but this last one for the Trr8 was a little sub par from the normal quality they put out. Wait time was waaay longer than it should have been ( which is fine) but when you go way over you expect “the best”. I’ve always admired Doc’s work, well I just ordered a Hank Sloan for my 624! I can’t wait. it’s gonna be awesome. Classic firearm in a classic design of leather. What are your thoughts on this particular type of rig? IMG_3019.jpeg IMG_3071.png

My holsters are all made for everyday carrying. So in effect, I'm staking my life on the holster I carry. I've depended on Doc Barranti and had special taiored to order features built in to my holsters, or left off, as I see fit.

The left holster is his No. 1 Shuck, which I ordered to have the cuff, or band, from his Ethan Edwards model. This was made for a 2 1/2" gun belt, but I altered it to fit a 1 1/2" pants belt. Next is the Hipshots model with basket weave stanping. This is one I have worn most of late. My home state, Tennessee, is an Open Carry state, but I usually conceal these under a sport coat of western style vest.

But Doc's work is first rate. There are none better.

I really like the fact I’m not stuck in the box of “no options, no basket weave, no border etc”. The Kramer is great but plain. They don’t do any custom work. Doc sounds like he’ll whatever you want. And he answers emails. Unlike some folks ;)

LOL, hey, are you paging me?

I’m telling you, you are the one who will finally inspire me to order at least one Hank Sloan if not two…in the meantime, I’m happy to oblige with what Barranti eye-candy that I can offer haha…

Man, that five-inch Summer Classic was so clean and fresh in the pic immediately above. Here’s a more recent shot:

Congratulations. I've never had a Barranti Holster (yet).

I've got a couple of the Simply Rugged Sourdough pancake holsters from Rob Leahy. The first, (shown) is for my Ruger Blackhawk 44 Special. I liked it so much I ordered an identical model for my Single Six.

I got it border stamped in oxblood color, and with IWB tabs. I carry it mostly outside the waistband, but IWB is very comfortable, and it conceals very well. My only complaint, is that the back of the holster is the same height as the front, so you can't wiggle the gun back in as easy. That said, it's not a deal breaker for me, and I'm quite happy.

Placed the order a little earlier today: Barranti Hank Sloan for a 3.5-inch N-frame, saddle tan, lined, with belt-loop cutout. Looking very, very forward to this one!

Somebody like their 2x2x2’s. Like me lol I need to make me one for the .44

I have a DeSantis 3x3 for 44 that I use. It's somewhat thin, though it's lasted for like 3 years now. I suppose I'm in the beginning of looking at replacements. Barranti and Leahy will be the contenders thus far.
