Finally did it. Ordered a Series 70 reproduction. Should be at my FFL on Friday. Can't wait.

Elusive things, aren't they? I can't remember seeing one on the shelf anywhere, and one of the shops here stocks a lot of Colts.

I agree with Mosin. They have kind of been a unicorn for a long time now. I was looking for one for several years but the price was never right. Probably a symptom of the inflation caused by something being relatively hard to find. I eventually lost interest and stopped looking. Congrats on your find.

Well it wasn't in on Friday. UPS said "In Process". Should be here sometime this week.

I almost picked up a stainless model a couple of years ago but went with the Colt Lightweight Government instead as it just had a better feel to it than the stock Series 70 Government. Hope you get your new Colt soon and will be awaiting your first range report.

Stopped in at the FFL yesterday. AccuSport didn't ship it until Tuesday! Got a new FedEx tracking number. It should be here today.

It did, in fact, arrive at the FFL Thursday! YAHOO!
Absolutely beautiful.
Got to shoot it on Friday. 300rds of 230 FMJ. A mix of various factory & handloads. Another 50 or so of various factory 230 JHP. No malfunctions. Well twice it failed to lock open on the last round, but it was an old mag that was to blame for that. Nice groups too.
So today it got holstered up and carried.
