I think this belongs at the trading post, not here.

I don't want to trade anything ai want to buy
hope thats ok oregon

I don't think you are going to get anyone to bore a 13/16ths barrel out to .54 caliber. I would be surprised if there is a .50 cal with a 13/16ths barrel. You probably want at least a 15/16ths across the barrel flats. I am guessing you meant to say 13/16ths and not 13/15. Never heard of that.

And the Trading post is not where you trade but look at whats for sale, sell your item or put a "want to buy" listing.

Yes but he wants it rifled with a 1/72 twist. Not a 1/48 twist. The problem with that slow of a twist is that it needs a large powder charge to stabilize the ball. A better twist is the standard 1/66 or a 1/60 like on the Lyman Great Plains Rifle. I have that gun in percussion and it does shoot a round ball very well even with a light charge. Some think the 1/56 is the best twist of all.

New GM .54 barrels are either 15/16" or 1".
oldcoot, you need to be careful about which barrel you get because some used barrels will have screw holes for the sights that may interfere with re-boring to .54.
Talk to your barrel guy about it before you buy one.

I have a 13/16" .50 cal. barrel that was made by Pedersoli that you can see here: --->>> https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/my-first-smokestick.847145/#post-11042303
I 've only seen one other new 13/16" barrel bored for a .50 from a barrel company that went out of business a long time ago.

Yes, I think that is the main reason, for the weight. However, the barrel manufacturers, and the barrel smiths seem to all stick to the modern standards of barrel size in relation to caliber. I think that's too bad, most barrels are a bit overly heavy for the caliber, if not way too heavy. I can appreciate wanting a nice slim light barrel on a rifle, instead of an obese hunk of steel suitable for massive over-loads or prying rocks out of the ground.

When I decided on caliber for my Jeager, I went with .62 for the simple reason that would be the lightest barrel I could get in that barrel size. A .54 would have been much heavier. I already had lots of molds and "stuff" for .58", and love that caliber, but again the .62 would be slightly lighter. (and I now love the .62") (no regrets)

So, it is a problem, the barrel makers won't make "slim" barrels, and the barrel smiths usually won't bore a barrel over a certain, self imposed limit. Won't be easy to get a smith to bore a 13/16's out to .54", but again I totally appreciate what you are trying to do.

Here you can have a .54 caliber Hawken flinter without any work.

Thanks a gob but I want a 1 in 70" barrel for round ball.
I want to really thank all of you for the expert advice, I'm rethinking the twist and going fer 1 in 66 thank you all again, O and you all are right I screwed up the 15/16 across the flats.
I'm 83 years old with heart failure but I want to do some MORE target shooting with it and leave it in my will to a 15 year old boy here in town that loves to go to roundy. I cant stand his mother but the boy is a pleasure to be around I have allready gave him a lot of my roundy stuff till his mother showed her true stuff.

Could a person get a 15/16"s .54 caliber barrel, and have the flats milled down to 13/16's? A machinist might be willing to do that.

Yes, avoid barrels with screw holes. I notice that very old guns have very shallow dove tails for the sights, and seldom if ever screw holes. ? Makes sense!
