I think I know the answer to this...but was hoping someone with actual gunsmithing experience on the little Ortgies .25 (or other, the design is the same on the other calibers) could shed some light and help me determine exactly which part(s) I need to find to correct the problem.

The problem is, when the slide is cycled, the gun doesn't go into the "cocked" mode. To me this means simply that the firing pin (which is a hollow tube for the spring, which has two "claws" on it - the left side one which is supposed to catch on the sear, is NOT catching on the sear. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the firing pin, but the "claws" both seem to be intact and not broken. Or is it a problem with the sear being worn out to the point that it can't catch and hold the "claw" of the firing pin?. Or is it the sear spring worn out and not pushing the sear UP hard enough? Or is it something completely different (a spring worn out or something). Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys,

Warner
