Other Semi-Auto Rifles You Would Like to See

You know.... Ruger was working on a .308 semi rifle years ago. They advertised it- but it never hit the market. I think it would sell well if made.

You listening Ruger? Probably not since we still get 5 round mini 14 mags!

i like the idea of a small military style BAR
a scaled down bar in 223 would be all kinds of cool.

expensive, though.

edit: there's definitely something catch about the name "miniBAR" :)

Deerfield with a recoil pad that works on it. Also one that will load 300g bullets. While I'm at it one that doesn't rattle when you move it while in a deer stand.

FG-42 in 7.62mm Nato. I'd like to see both the 1st and 2nd model.

The XM8. Just because the military canceled it doesn't mean it can't be successful. I like it because it looks futuristic, and you could change the charcteristics of the rifle with different stocks, etc.

Of course, that won't happen if that fool McCarthy has her AWBII bill passed...

For those of you looking for a semi-auto STG-44, the Vector Arms V-93

http://www.vectorarms.com/indexframe.html

Looks similar when equipped with a 40 rnd mag. It fires in .223... It looks like a synthetic STG-44 and is roughly the same size. (I've handled a real STG-44 in comparison). I know you're going to say "that looks more like a Cetme" but in person and with the low hanging 40 rounder it looks more like an STG. In fact, I had to do a double take at the shop where I saw one because I thought someone made a synthetic STG-44. Oh yeah, no bipod on the one in the store either.

The List

I'd love to have:

A mini 14 that accepts AR-15 Mags

Another mini in 6.8Spc that accepts AR mags

a pistol grip carbine in either 10 mm/.357sig with 15-45rd mags

A modern luger .45ACP (I know Rifles, but I want one!)

Springfield Socom Lite (i.e. lightened for a .223 rifle. WOWBABY!)

A mag fed 12gauge semi auto shotgun 15+rounds

New M1 Carbine w/ synthetic stock & rails for light & Eotech sight

The South African neostead shotgun has 12 shots in dual tube magazines and looks to be reasonably handy. It's a pump though, and I would guess that it's nearing the upper end of what's practical.

All Metal SU-16CA clone with the ability to run a cleaning road from the breach side.

FAL style upper for AR10. POF may already be making this, but is it adjustable like an FAL? ANd dear god, it costs more than a tricked out DSA FAL.

A good .45ACP carbine that uses 1911 mags.

I think I could have a lot of fun with this, even in a semi-auto version...

mmmmm, savory ma deuce goodness, now in a lite version.....:)

I think a SVD-actioned rifle made in the US and chambered in .45-70 would be a hoot. I would call it the buffalogunov.

Saiga in 35 Remington

I would love to see a 16 inch Saiga in 35 Remington. That would be an awesome woods rifle.

I'd like an H&K UMP .45acp for sure. Man that would be sweet

+1 on an FN FNC clone (should call it something different to get around my home state EBR ban).

i shot the crap out of a select fire FNC several years back. lordy, that thing is built like a brick $hithouse. love it, even if it is considered "obselete."

For you guys that want an affordable Galil clone, they are already available.

Ohio Rapid Fire receiver- $350
Galil parts kit including new U.S. made barrel- $300
U.S. required parts for 922r - $40
Gunsmithing including refinishing- $400

This gets you a nice Galil clone for around $1100, or figure maybe $1200 or so if you have to replace some unserviceable parts in your parts kit, or if you want to buy nice mint condition handguards, etc. Sounds affordable to me, considering original Galils are in the $2000+ range.

I've got all my parts together, and just need to box it all up and get them sent in to be built.

That new Israeli Tavor looks interesting. IMI could sell them alongside with the desert eagle brand. I would also love a civi legal XM8, but we all know what HK is willing to give us serfs as far as rifles go (SL8 ).

Good point about the XM8. However, HK spent millions on that rifle, had a bunch they were gonna build for our military and then the project got cancelled. Civilian along with LE sales might be the only way they can recover costs on that thing.;)
