I'm looking for a better scope for my .223 . I use 55 gr bullet with it 1 in9 twist. according to what have read in their advertisements that they can compensate for the drop. does anyone have any experience with them or something similar. 3x9 or M223 3-12x42mm Side Focus Rapid Action Turret BDC 600 Reticle Matte Finish
thanks

Any of the Nikon P223 or M223 scopes are a good piece of glass. Don't be suckered into the marketing hype thinking that you need an AR specific scope. There are a lot of options that may or may not work better for you if you do some research into exactly what you are looking for.

I also have an p223 fixed power on my AR works great
set at 50 yard zero keeps me within 2 inches at all ranges
I can shoot at Im happy with it

Nikon

Sgt., I have used Nikon's P-Series of optic's since they came out and have zero complaints. Very clear, bright, reliable and can't beat the price. I am especially a fan of Nikon's BDC reticle. I have used it to shoot soda can's to 500 yards.
That being said, one of my favorite M-223 scopes, the 3-12 is on Promo right now for $160 off until 12/31/14. This is the best price I have ever seen on this scope in 5 years! Check out some of THR Sponsors and see if they are Authorized Nikon Dealers and can help you out. While I do freelance PR/Shooting Event's for Nikon, I wouldn't tell you these scopes will work for your needs if I didn't believe it. Drop me a note if you have any question's.

I have the p-223 on my ar and I also have one on my 223. I use the BDC app this past summer shooting between 300-1000 yards. It worked flawlessly.

I really like the quality of the Nikon's for the price. I actually bought most of my 5 or so as reconditioned. Only drawback to that is they only have a 90 day warranty instead of lifetime, but I have yet to have any issues with them.

I have both the BDC 600 reticle and the Nikoplex in P223 and M223 flavors. (and one M308 and one P22.) I shoot the BDC reticle the same as the Nikoplex, on the crosshair. Just don't have the safe place to shoot further than 200 yards or so.

Great scope for the money, especially if on sale for $160 off as mentioned above!

Scope

Agreed, I use the M-223 3-12 on my Savage .223 single shot. This rifle sat in the back of my safe until I got this scope on it. Now 4 buddies have borrowed it to go prairie dog hunting and loved it. Being able to dial out the distance and have an accurate impact is fantastic.

Mike,Glad you got $160 off the scope. That was the best deal I have seen Nikon put out in 5 years.

For those of you wondering about the P-223 Series.
I use both and really like the flexibility of the 3-9 for whatever you may encounter.

Be sure to check the one you purchase prior to taking it home. I had to return a p233 4x12 because the threads on the top turret screw were stripped. Nikon would not send me a replacement screw. Nikon wanted me to send in the scope. They were going to pay shipping both ways. Luckily, Gander swapped the whole scope. It has been fine other than that. I used a Millet one piece mount. It works fine. I use a red dot occasionally. The mount is within 1 moa when I remount the scope. Wally World has the mount on closeout for $30.00.
