I'm interested in some feedback in a good self defense round for a Glock 30. I am particularly interested in the Proload Gold Dot 200gr +P JHP and the Remington Golden Saber 185gr +P JHP. I have found the following info from the manufacturer's web site and from http://www.firearmstactical.com/briefs.htm.
Average: Velocity(fps), Penetration(.in), Expansion
963, 13.2, .67 for Proload GD 200 +P
1033, 13.9, .68 for Remington GS 185 +P
Manufacture's info: Velocity(fps), Energy(ft-lbs)
1030, 471 for Proload GD 200 +P
1140, 534 for Remington GS 185 +P
From the information above it would appear that the Remington GS 185 +P would have more recoil? What does the extra muzzle velocity of the Remington buy you over the Proload, given that the penetration and expansion are about the same?
Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.
