between the p226 dak or p229 dak in 40 s&w which would you choose for concealed carry i heard the p226 is like a brick in your side

Welcome to THR!
I CCW a P229 DAK in the colder months. It's a little easier to conceal than a P226. The P226 is not that much bigger than the P229. There are many who carry a P220 / P226 without any problems. I wouldn't say its like a brick.
Good luck.

For a ccw I would think the 229 or maybe the 239 would be a better choice. I think the DAK trigger is a really good choice whichever pistol you end up purchasing.

There is very little difference between most all the SIG's, size wise. If the 226 is a brick, so's the 229, and actually, the 229 is a little fatter than the 226.

The 226 or 220 are really no bigger than a Colt Commander, if thats any help.

I'd suggest finding a SIG dealer and get one of each in your hands and see what feels the best to you. I find the 226 feels just a tad better in the grip, but 229 seems to point better for me.

I think I would prefer the increased compactness of the P229 over the P226...and if you do your part, the P229 is more than capable ;)
