I have finally had a chance to shoot a P229 DAK
Talk about loving a gun.... I really did not think there would be as much difference from my circa 1980 P229 "standard" in .40S&W to the present day P229 DAK in .40.

I was wrong....

Any ways, my question.

What other semi-auto pistols (if any) also exhibit the repeat strike capability like the DAk system Sig uses?
(yes... yes... yes... I know revolvers have allways had that ABILITY...)

Example:
With a Glock you pre-cock the weapon, pull the trigger and should you have a failure to fire you can not with the Glock system re-pull the trigger.
You first have to manually cycle the slide to present another round.

With the DAK system you can keep pulling the trigger until you decide to manually cycle the slide.

Question is what other semi-auto pistol manufacturers have a "DAK type" repeat strike trigger system like Sig?

Thanks

DA/SA automatics, though I assume you knew that. Most DAO too, with the exception of the Glock and XD (that I can think of).

There are numerous other manufactures that have the double/second strike type capability in their pistols, a lot of them using both DA/SA type trigger systems and DAO type trigger systems, just a few that come to mind: the Beretta PX4, the CZ 75 P-01, the Walther P99 AS, the HK P2000 LEM, the S&W SW99,....etc.

+1 for the LEM

HK's LEM is awesome.

My next pistol will be a P2000 in variant 3.

The LEM has the double strike ability, but unlike the DAK, the LEM's second strike has a much, much higher pull weight on the second strike. It's still a nice system and has some advantages over DAK such as a shorter reset. (I have 3 LEM's and 3 DAK's).

I've neve shot one, but I've heard Para Ordinance's LDA system is similar.

AZGlock13, I don't know about the other ones that you mentioned but the Kahr PM9 does NOT have a repeat striker capability.

Alan Fud, Yep, you are correct, the Kahr pistols have a more closer Glock type trigger system, where racking the slide partially cocks their striker firing pin and pulling the trigger pulls back the firing pin the rest of the way and releases. No double/second strike capability on hitting a primer that didn't go off type situation. Sorry about that bad info on the PM9, I got my facts mix up somewhere. The other pistols I mentioned do have double/second strike capability.

Fwiw

Taurus DAO pistols do have second-strike capability. They are a true DAO in that the striker is fully retracted and released each time the trigger is pulled.

Smith & Wesson DAO pistols do not have this capability.

Personally, the length and weight of pull and general feel of a given trigger system are more important to me than whether it has second-strike capability, but to each his own.

Tecumseh
I think the original poster meant Light DAO type guns.

Um yup.... sory, thought I had that in there..... good catch Tecumseh....

? @ Tecumseh & ccmdfd > So the HK LEM is a lighter first pull - but subsiquent pulls are heavyer?
