I have been trying to find a P228 so I may have to settle for the P226. Can someone tell me what the difference is between a P226 and P226 Navy?

Thanks!

A little navy logo. Thats about it I think. I'll look it up to see if there is anything more. Give me a min.

Navy only comes in 9mm and does not seem to have night sights as an option. With the regular 226 you have the option of 9mm,40s&w,and 357sig. Also able to get night sights from the factory.

So yeah, only difference is the logo.

When the Navy's first came out, they also had phosphated intenals, which prevented corrosion and some felt helped smooth out the trigger.

There's been quite a bit of discussion lately on the Sigforum if that's still the case or not.

Don't waste your money, get the standard 226. If you want something special, the Elite is outstanding with it's SRT(short reset trigger).

My state police agency of about 24 guys are issued Sig 226s. Been acrrying the 40S&W for about 6 or 7 years now, and in 9mm since 1990 or so. Never a malfunction on the line when qualifying, etc. Outstanding handguns. Some of our guys also carry the 230 or 232 in .380 off duty. Hard to go wrong with any Sig.

They used to have phosphated internals, but it's been hit or miss lately. A lot of them still have phosphated internals, but more than a few don't. Usually the price difference is not much more (if at all) than the cost of the extra mag that they come with (Navy's come with 3 mags). Only come in 9mm. I love mine. :)
