EAST STROUDSBURG - An alleged robber apparently picked the wrong customer to mess with at the Wal-Mart super center here.

There were no serious injuries despite a shootout in the parking lot early this morning.

Another local media report:

Perhaps suited for the S&T section:
"Eastman told police the boy fired at him first through the driver's side window while he was reaching for his wallet, which he had purposely dropped on the ground of the parking lot with the hope another customer would see the robbery in progress"

If you look at the way these gangas aim, it's no wonder they can't hit a target at 3 feet away.

This could have turned out way worse for the victim. I'm glad that he was able to fight back. The article was well-written, siding on the side of the innocent victim for a change.

I feel bad for the guy but I am glad he was able to keep himself safe and prevent any other innocent people from getting hurt or worse.

Sounds like it was caught on security cameras, too. It'll be hard for mommy to say her "little boy" wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

I live about 5 miles or so from this Walmart and ever since it opened, its parking lot has been a haven for this type of activity. I would say that better than 90% of us "locals" know that and try to keep our wives, mothers, sisters, girlfriends away from there, especially after dark.

Perhaps this will lead to SARP (the illustrious Stroud Area Regional Police) patrolling the area as requested by local residents rather than their rampant enforcement of only the areas DUI laws and letting drug dealers, robbers, and rapists operate with impunity.

I better quit before I get accused of cop bashing.
