pachmayr grip adapter sizes

I have an older Pachmayr grip adapter size 5M. I've been trying, without success, to figure out what pistol this fits. I thought it was to fit S&W K frames, but it doesn't fit up cleanly on my M&P or my Model 15 so I'm not certain.

No results on line and no response from Pachmayr so far.

I know these have been out of their catalong for along time.

I also would like to know what revolver the Pachmayr #5 grip adapter fits. (I have a #5L in excellent condition.) My catalogs as far back as the early 1970's do not show this model number.
