It looks like the MP5 will be Palmetto State Armory's next platform. The MP5 may not be for everyone but it certainly holds a certain mystic among many. $1,800 is pricey but attainable if someone really wants one.

Mods, I did a search and didn't see another post on this. I hope I didn't miss anything already posted. I also posted here since PSA will be offering both a pistol version and carbine version.

My guess is 15. I'll come back later and explain what that means. Let the discussion begin!

I think it will be a big hit if priced according to their normal pricing structure. I think around $800 and they would sell a ton as there is a lot of interest, but pricing starts around $1800 for most other brands.

They are saying release in early 2019. Hopefully they get it right there first time

I’d buy a couple of those if they’re reliable and the brace is really sturdy. Would make a great home defense gun for me.

If they’re priced like PSA prices their ARs and AKs and the mags aren’t exhorbitant, they’ll sell well I’d guess.

Given how quickly HK's legal beagles leapt on GSG for their pot metal .22lr clone (which now bears an HK stamp paid for under license), one wonders how long before HKUSA comes to visit PSA.

I like it, the idea, the looks, and the hints about price.

Still not getting the attraction to a semi-auto sub-gun. A bit of experience with the real deal MP-5 in my military and law enforcement career, but frankly, for an entry weapon, I'll take an M-4 (especially a Commando version) any day over a sub-gun.

I used the MP-5 myself some in the military, and I even attended the HK MP-5 armorer's course. Looks like an expensive range toy to me. Would it be a decent HD weapon? Sure. But if I had something that cost that much, it would live in the safe when I'm not at the range. Which kind of makes it useless as a HD weapon if its in a safe. Also one can buy a FN PS90 for less than this knock-off MP-5. Ammo is cheap through PSA.

It served many law enforcement and military applications successfully for many years. Lower recoil and less expensive to feed than 5.56? More controllable in the pistol configuration than an AR? Maybe everyone isn't into ARs. The search engine Bing was launched for the very reason it gets its name, Because It's Not Google. In other words, different strokes for different folks.

My agency transitioned from the MP-5 to the M4 in 2003 (I think?). However, lots of people own firearms just for the fun of it. Not every gun has to have a serious application.

Glad to see PSA broaden its product lines a bit more. Should be a decent seller if the price point is right. It seems that pistol caliber carbines are back again after languishing over a decade.

In all reality I'd build a chopped down braced .300 BLK before I'd buy one of these, but growing up in the 80s and 90s I sure love the nostaliga of them.

Very cool

Too bad I didn't buy one when I could have for a little over $200--we opted for an UZI instead. I got rid of the UZI when the kids started costing me a fortune even with reloading.

Picked up a Palmetto lower yesterday with a Bear Creek upper in 7.62 x 39. Will let you know how it does using steelcase.

I never noticed the PSA booth at SHOT...wish I had. Would liked to have looked at these.

Did look at the Zenith guns. Good fit and finish and they flat looked good. They were $1800 or so IIRC maybe $1600?

Then walked over to H&K and looked at their MP5 pistol for $2600 msrp. It looked REALLY nice, but $2.6K ! Ouch.

The link is to a shortened, more commercialized version of the initial, longer video I ran across. In that video there is a second person (interviewer) and more back and forth and that is where the PSA guy hesitantly said $1,800. I couldn't find the longer video when I was creating this post.

But remember, their uppers are all 350-500. Just nobody notices because they are always on a 50% off sale. At least after they are out for awhile. Hopefully this will follow suit.

Where does it say $1800? I did not hear it in the video... Just that it's a 2019 release.
I doubt it will be anywhere near $1800. That is where the Zenith come in and PSA wouldnt sell many at that price. The PSA rep on TOS hinted around $800 but didnt confirm anything. He did say it would be in line with how they currently price which is generally value based
