Anyone have any word on these. I ordered one from a distributor the end of last year and it still says on Paras website coming soon. Just getting impatient I guess. I have emailed Para with this question but never got a response.

I have a Para LDA Carry stainless 3" that is a bit smaller than my Colt officers Enhanced.
There's a trigger you can learn to love!

Para made a stainless Officer-sized LDA 1911 in .45acp for a good while. I owned two of them. The model was (IIRC) the C6. It was a neat, very small 1911.

My favorite Para story--I bought my first C6 used, and experienced some feeding issues with it. I was on a 1911 board looking for advice, and posted my experiences. George Wedge was the head of QC for Para, and apparently perused the board. He contacted me via pm and asked me to send the pistol in for repair, even though I bought it used and it was out of warrantee. I was and still am very impressed with that level of customer service.

I just did a quick google of "Para LDA C6" and found this (among others):

I am an advocate of the original SA 1911 trigger setup, but for someone who is not comfortable with a C&L 1911, the LDA is a neat design.

For carry, I prefer an alloy frame due to weight (about six ounces) but I don't know if Para offers that option. If you like the LDA trigger, I wouldn't let six ounces stand in my way.

Happy shopping. Lots of good C6s out there at reasonable prices.

Best regards, Rich

The C6.45 LDA was defender sized. The officer's model was rollmarked "C7.45 LDA" and "Para Companion" on the other.

Eventually I decided I didn't like it. First off the stock extractor didn't hold tension. Then the mag release broke. Standard 1911 part wouldn't drop in.

I found that sight options were limited while wanting to ditch the three dots and go with my prefered front night sight plain rear arrangement. Dawson offers a variety of front sights, so I decided to have the rear dovetail recut to a novak lomount, which required welding. Since the rear sight wasn't "officer's model height" (.375") it didnt shoot POA... Thought about flat topping the slide and having the front dovetail recut to novak specs, however it was so deep I was worried about removing that much material. I ordered a taller, plain black front sight from dawson, with the intention of sighing it in, measuring, and ordering a night sight...

By the time I sighted it in I was so tired of it I traded straight up for a potmetal rimfire plinker made by airsoft company that, for some odd reason, Sig put their name on. Haven't looked back.

All of this because I hate three dot sights, and Para didnt offer plain black ones. At least, not when I called anyway.

The last time I saw a used C7 LDA, it was priced at $525. They were close to $800 new.

Having owned four series one Kimbers and that Para, I've pretty much swore off any 1911 with proprietary dovetails. I might consider another Kimber since the aftermarket offers more options today (namely 10-8).
