I have one of these with an 18” barrel that to me really bucks. Anyone else have experience with these? I like it ok and can’t beat $130 brand new but much prefer my 870 with 26” barrel

Short barrel, all black home defense model? Yeah sweet piece. Broke clays first time out with it. Lmao. Every one was like what the hell are you shooting from that? And yeah you lie never shot clays before. I had not. First outing literally with the shotgun that had sat 10 years in the safe. Got me hooked. Now it not the only shotgun in the safe. Turned me on to shooting clays, slugs for fun and loading my own hulls! Shooting sports are the best!

Mine is the cheap one I think. When I bought it from a guy, I took alot of his hands. A small gun safe, stack on. A few hundred rounds of 12 gauge. An h & r .22 929 sidekick (I believe) with 6" barrel. 1500 .22 rds. & that shotgun. With the manual n receipt, 115 bucks. Brand new! Was only a few wks old. With pistol grip (houge) an after foregrip. And a small but bright flashlight mounted on it. Over 10 years ago now. Really that was the start of this beautiful obsession

Those single shot break opens have a lot more recoil than a Remington 870 because they are so light.

Is the OP talking about the old single shots or the pump action. Maybe a mix up.
I don't think they ever made the single shots with an 18" barrel. Some folks have cut them down but the OP mentioned "brand new", so my guess would be he's got one of the Chinese 870's.

Going on 20 yr since I got one. I have an SB1 with a 22in barrel. It ain't going nowhere.
Love the gun. It does give ya a good kick on the back side just a fun plinker

I have 2, bought for the princely sum of about $140 each. 1 lives in each of my trucks. I fired them a few times with a variety of rounds to make sure they worked and to get an idea of close range patterns, slug accuracy, etc. Once I established that they work and perform as well as similar guns from Mossberg and Remington, I cleaned them, cased them, and put them in the trucks.

20211201_170118.jpg here is mine with my ks7 both 18.5" barrels and yeah the pardner kicks but the ks7 is brutal

Any of you guys reload ? If not, it's a good reason to start. Most my guns are SxSs built in the late 1800s or early 1900s and they all have 3" of drop in the stock. This causes them to kick like a mule. I shoot shotgun three times a week with one or the other any where from 75 to 150 times, but do it with 3/4oz 12ga loads. I could never stand to shoot light guns or ones with lots of drop in the stock with standard loads.
