Thinkin of buying an ak or sks parts kit with the reciever seperate, i heard they can be difficult what do you guys think?
Also will they function like a normal as/sks if i put it together right?
thank you
I don't know how the AK works, but I've been told that the barrel is the tricky part. Maye someone more in the know can fill you in. I have been considering an AK project gun, though, if I turn out to be wrong about the barrel thing.
I dunno why you'd buy a SKS parts kit to assemble, they are available and cheap.
Only a few reasons I see for a parts kit: a) Assemble a gun for less than you can buy it (good example: AR) b) Assemble a gun that is not readily available for purchase (example: semi-auto 1919) c) As spare parts for a gun you legally own (ex: you own a full auto M60, and want spare parts) d) Assemble the gun exactly how you want.
And yeah, IF you put it together right, they should function perfectly
Never seen an SKS parts kit. If you can read and swing a hammer, you should be able to build an AK from a receiver and a kit. You'll need some tools, and it won't be economically prudent to get the tools for a single build.
