Experience is showing me that .22 LR is not all that accurate no matter what you do, so I am thinking I should forgo scoping my latest: a Savage A22. I feel like a peep sight will give me about as much accuracy as a scope at .22 distances with much faster acquisition and less aggravation.
Problem: no one cares about the A22. I can't find a peep sight made to fit the receiver.
I am thinking about getting a Weaver base and attaching a UTG rear sight to it. It looks like no one else makes a low-profile rear sight that fits a Weaver or Picatinny base. The big advantage of my approach is that it's cheap. Should cost under $20, total.
Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this problem.
