Pellet Recommendations for Gammo P-27

Just picked up a Gammo P-27 pellet / bb CO2 pistol. Gammo recommends a flat head or low dome pellet and one You Tuber recommended the Beeman Wadcutter 7.7. Anybody have recommendations or brand preference? This is used mostly for plinking when I cannot go to the range with my big toys and the occasional varmint chaser.

Seriously, P-27 is one of the cheapest plinkers even within Gamo's standards. I own one and was quite disappointed after the impulse buy because the pistol has fixed sights and they were way off even at 10 feet. But then I installed an el cheapo laser on it and now the gun at least hits approximately where intended. As for pellets, I shoot Geco 7.0 gr flatheads in all my air pistols. It's a German product good enough to be used at lest at my skill level up to the old competition air pistols of which I have a small collection. Rumor says that Geco is same stuff as RWS Hobby, which should be available in US.

I'm sure any decent quality, 7.0 - 7.5 grain lead pellet will work well enough in your P-27, as long as the projectiles are not too long to prevent the magazine disks from rotating. If you shoot paper with flatheads and holes tend to tear, you may try domed or even pointed pellets, unless of course the latter ones are not too long. Flatheads need more velocity than the P-27 can provide before they start to drill nice clean holes.

And even if Gamo says the P-27 is dual fuel, I would never ever shoot steel BBs through a rifled airgun barrel.

Thanks for the reply. I also am not too impressed with the P-27. It was an impulse buy to see if I could shoot something at the house that would be quite and scare off pest (racoons, possums, armadillos etc.). It's a little too loud for the neighbors and when I did shoot it at coke cans it wouldn't even penetrate the thin aluminum from about a5-20 ft. So I guess it will be good for scaring away critters I may save up for a better quality air pistol. I've just about got all of my 'regular' guns obtained and can at least take an air pistol to a backlot near me to shoot without getting LEO involved.

I do have a Gamo break barrel and thought maybe the quality would carry over into a pistol. Guess the ole 'Ass-U-Me' got me there....lol

No experience with that pistol but if you want to try some decent ammo try….
Meisterkulgeln Pistol
H&N Finale Match Light
RWS Hobby
JSB match premium lights

Basically stick to the lighter grains for that pistol is my guess if you find they are too light move up to the heavier grain I each.
