Pellet testing at 20 yds with my Morini air pistol

A bit more pellet testing with my Morini162ei airpistol today at 20 yards. A good bit better than I expected to be honest.

Ten different pellets with pistol clamped to a not too solid wooden lightweight bench. All 5 shot groups and all under .7"

The R10's retail at around £10/500, Hobby £6.50 and the HN Excite are less that £4/500. Hardly any difference in group size.

That's a pretty long shot for an air pistol. I've never tried to shoot my FWB 65 from a rest--I wonder how accurate it would be at 20 yards.

Several years ago I clamped a bunch of my air rifles in a vice for testing, you really can't do this with springers so just PPC and MSP.

At 25 yards the difference between the most inexpensive $80 to the most expensive $2200 was enough to make you say anything over $80 is a ripoff. Where the more expensive guns shine is at the longer ranges. But if you just want to shoot inside of 25 yards, a Crosman 2100 classic will shoot the spade out of an ace of spades in under 5 shots.

The key is pellets, you must find a pellet that your gun likes, and chances are they are not sold at walmart.

Anyway you look at it that is good shooting with pellets
