I have seen them used with rifles. Did not bother the shooter at all.

A Few Comments

Whether you will have interference with your cheek weld may depend on the shape of your head, including how low or how high your ears are. You can probably get a good sense of whether it will be a problem with a conventional (as opposed to "shotgun") set of muffs.

The Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of hearing protectors is largely a function of how far the "cup" is from your ear, Thus, shotgun-style muffs generally lose about one digit in NRR, compared to their more bulbous brothers.

If you find that you do need the slimmer profile, Pro Ears offers a few models that are slimmer than the Peltor one you have linked.
