I know there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying used firearms but I just cannot bring myself to do it.
There are many many fine firearms you will miss out on in life.

There are many guns that I cannot find at a range to rent, nor do I know anyone that has one I can borrow. Even if I did, I wouldn't also have the opportunity to take it home to strip and clean it. Most of the retail stores are 'all gun sales are final.' $100 is like an expensive rental. ;)

I've done this twice:

Both had around 100 rds thru it (thank you Winchester value packs :D )

The first was a Colt Government .380. It was a great gun, I bought it cuz I heard a lot about it, difficult to get, super difficult to find in California. Although I loved the gun, I had no use for it. And it functioned perfectly. Very accurate for a .380 pocket pistol also. The ammo cost more than 9mm and I wasn't gonna conceal it, so after I finished my box of 100 rds, I sold it.

The second was a Glock 23. I couldn't shoot it for beans, but I wanted to get into the .40 niche and the Glock niche. I hated both the .40 caliber and the Glock in the end. :D

But, I broke even, didn't lose any money even with my "few months rental" of the guns. The Colt I sold higher than I bought it for with ease, and the Glock I sold it the next day for the same price I bought it for (also used).

No regrets. I'm glad someone else could put the gun through more use than I did.
