Many months ago now (almost exactly three) I sent in an application for a C&R FFL. They took my money within a couple days and went silent. I finally got tired of waiting last week (on the 16th actually) and called to see what was up. The lady I finally get on the phone, once I'd identified myself, said, "I show it processed on 11/15/2006." LMAO... I'm not sure I believe it just happened to process the day before I called... but today there was a blue envelope from NLC/Atlanta in my mail box. I suppose I should have called sooner.

But that's not the good part... this is the good part: Between the time I submitted my application and the time I actually received my license, my employer asked me to relocate to Texas (I'm in CA now) ... I'll be moving in January. And what is printed on the front of my new license? "Address changes? You must notify the FFLC at least 30 days before the move." So basically I have a license that will be good from tomorrow until the middle of December, at which point I'll need to notify BATF of my new address. Three weeks, give or take.

So... should I even bother mailing copies to any shops? I'll probably get myself a K-31 for xmas just because I can, but I'm not sure it'll be worth mailing out a bunch of copies only to have to mail out a bunch of different copies once I get my new address....

Still don't know whether to laugh or :banghead:

No do not bother mailing it to everyone. If you just gotta get the K-31, then just send it off to them.
You might want to call MidWay and Brownells and ask them if they need a new copy or just change your address on the website--since they are only giving a discount they as not as picky about the license.
Remember, a 03 FFl is a license to spend money (hope the move means more money!!)

I didn't have a new address 30 days before I moved. After I moved I notified them and the new license came in about 3 weeks.

There is that as well... I have no idea what my new address will be at this point.

hope the move means more money!!

So do I!!! :D Actually, it's not a bad deal but I'm a little worried about expenses... especially of the "now I can get this variety. ;)
