My XD45 Compact that I bought new in '07 and have carried every day since has never had a malfunction of any kind. I stopped keeping track of it's round count at 11,000, but it's probably around 12.5k as I mostly train with my 22/45 now. The XD has seen just about every brand and type of ammo available in .45ACP. I put everything from steel cased, to aluminum cased, to reloads, super low-powered low recoil loads, wad cutters, anything I could find through it trying to make it malfunction. With the low recoil loads and severe limp wristing (holding the gun with only my thumb and middle finger) the action would cycle and chamber a round like it was in slow motion, but it never failed to load a round and fire it.
My Winchester 1200 12 gauge has never malfunctioned either, but I don't recall ever seeing a pump shotgun fail to load or fire. It's fired tens of thousands of rounds as I used it for trap shooting for a decade.
