If anyone would be kind enough to sandwich a Colt D frame between a Smith and Wesson J and K frame I'd appreciate it. Absent that, side by side to the J would be nice.

Also, a shot looking down on the J and D fames side by side would be appreciated, too.

Thanks in advance - Erik

Is this what you had in mind? Left to right are a 2" Model 10, a 4" Police Positive Special, and a Model 40. These represent the K, D and J frames from their respective manufacturers. In the 1st shot the two Smiths are resting on their front sights while the Colt is resting on the top of the barrel making a slight difference in height. The 2nd shot is not as sharp as the 1st. I never promised you a rose garden. The K is clearly larger than the D, which is only slightly larger than the J.

Thanks for the photos Thatguy.

However it would be better if you have a zoom lens, totake the photos from father away to reduce the close up distortion.
In your top photo the barrels on the outside guns appear to be pointing away from the center.

Perhaps you could take a photo viewed from the top looking down at the topstraps and cylinders. This would really help to visualize the proportions.

Thatguy,
Thanks, that's just about what I was looking for. Very helpful.

Anyone know of hand the length difference between the frames of the J and D frames?
