Come down to the wire and you can have only one, which do you pick and why?

1) Dan wesson razorback 10mm

2) glock 40 mos 10mm

3) Rock Island FS DS 10mm

As stated by those I did not put my reason for the gun, this would be pistol hunting. And the version of the company gun (Dan wesson bruin, hunter, limited, or glock 40 mos non mos, or wich ever RIA) you choose model can be which ever you want, state it and the reason why it's best for hunting.

Glock 40. The felt recoil impulse with ammo loaded to full potential of the cartridge will be less than in 1911 type pistol.

Glock. Been shooting Glocks for 15 years, nothing else comes close except a 1911 45.

I choose Glock,I been wanting a G- 10 mm. I have seven .45 and four .40 and no 10 mm. that's my reason.

You could grab a conversion barrel if one of those .45s are a Glock 30 or 21. Save ya a few bones and they work just fine.

I voted for the Dan Wesson. I don't have any experience with their 1911's but everything I have read about them has been positive & I really like 1911's.

I have seen in other places that many want pr would take the dan weswon, but have settled for the Glock 40. Why settle and not save for the dan wesson. Or is it not that big of a deal to use the glock

From the three choices listed I would go with the Dan Wesson Razorback. The larger framed Glocks are not a good fit for my smaller hands while any single stack 1911 is just about a perfect fit for me.

I voted Dan Wesson pretty easily.

Because glock people like glocks. And in general, people buy what's most affordable to them. You could also ask "why do people buy an 870 express over a wingmaster?" or "why buy a Taurus 66 over S&W 686?". Peoples budgets/priorities differ.

Hate glock with all my heart....but plastic 10mm's is their one gun I would own. Either a SF g20 (I had a g20) or the g40.

For every other application there's better options, but in this case I'd have to go glock.

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want a gorgeous 10mm pistol, DW all the way. If you want to mount an optic for hunting, the Glock is probably a better choice. If you want to compete, RIA may have some advantages.

I think "felt recoil" is always somewhat subjective. There is some flex in the Glock frame that some people perceive as softening the blow... the times I shot 10mm Glocks (20's and 29's... haven't tried a 40), I could certainly feel the frame flexing in recoil. Steel 1911 frames definitely don't do that.

But the heavier gun will move less overall. I know I prefer to shoot heavy steel guns for things like 10mm.

ETA: If the OP had thrown in a Tanfo Hunter or Limited, then this would have been a harder question! ;) Those are heavy guns.
