They shoot and handle very nice. Been looking for one for a long time, ten years to be exact....man time flies.

Very nice find!!!

I got one of those in 2017. Had a local dealer order if for me. I have fired many thousands of rounds through it. Very cost effective to shoot with my cast bullets.

At first I loaded several different loads, a pop gun, a medium power, and a full power (shown below). Lately it has been pretty much loads that are just little bit more than a 32 H&R. I also replaced the factory grip with a rubber grip.

Yeah it's smaller than my GP100. It feels good with the ruber grips. I say it's about the size of my Charter pitbull. And i shoot that well. If i could find bigger grips for my little H&R. I would shoot it more often. I can't hit anything with it. :fire:

I have my 327 Feb Mag SP101 set aside for dealing with ground hogs around my hobby horse farm. The ground hogs are not cooperating but the gun is ready. I killed one with a 22 RF S&W M317a couple years ago but it took five or six 22 LR rounds to finish off then groundhog. The ground hogs were comfortable with us in the pasture side of the pasture.

Anyway, I have the SP101 at the ready if then ground hogs presents themselves. I've seen the ground hogs but it is when I have not been "hunting" them.

One of these days...

Sweet! Thats a nice pick up right there .

Starline just sent me a box of .32 H&R so they are being made and available.

Let us know how it shoots with .32 H$R and .327 loads when you get a chance.

Stay safe. :)

Nice! I got one when they first came out. It's given me no problems. The trigger is still pretty stiff. I should really get around to replacing the springs.

What kind of grips are those? They look like they would help my big hands with my SP101's.

Local range had one for sale, CHEAP. Sadly, I did not get there the first time they marked it down for the sale. In a case of rare good luck for me, it was still there when they had their next sale and I snagged it for a really good price (really good!). Only had a few boxes of ammo through it as the employees didn't know enough about it to steer any renters towards it.

Great little "kit" gun in my mind. I also put on rubber grips to get a bit more to fill my hand.

Took it out for a spin before the heat sets in. The lighter loads with .2.2 grains of titegroup. Were better group size than the 3.7 of 231. Im gonna back the 231 down to 3.3 and see how that goes. Poped some cans out to 20 yards too.

I really like my 3" SP-101 in .357. I put CTC Laser Grip on it and it's fabulous. (it seems they don't make a 3" any more?!)

Having that extra round of capacity would be nice, and with the right bullet I'm sure it would be just as effective as 38 +P.

BTW, I wouldn't call an SP-101 "full size" either. More like "compact". Not a pocket gun or superlight snubbie, but a compact.

upload_2022-7-21_13-2-55.jpeg Here are mine in .32...The Ruger IS full size... compared to my little Colt, anyway.

The Ruger RD mount is from Alchin, the Red dot is a Burris. Yes, I am more accurate with the red dot. Time was, I could reload .32 cheaper than buying .22. Still, the Ruger is one of my most accurate revolvers. I did have to hand ream the cylinder throats to a uniform dia. as well as some polishing of the innards for a 2 lb. SA pull.

The Colt is from 1907, a Police Positive in .32 Colt, an obsolete cartridge that I had to get special slightly smaller brass for.

Here are my 32s.
Top is a first gen, SP101 in 327FM, (no MIM) and the bottom is a 1947 Hand Ejector in 32 SWL.

In your SP101, try 4.5 gr of 231 with your 90 gr lead bullets, in your 327 Federal brass. It will be a little spicier than your 32 SWL loads but is really accurate in my Sp101. I'm using tumble lube 90gr SWCs from a Lee mold for this load.

I have the three inch SP101 in .327 Fed Mag. My only problem has been that shooting Federal factory 100 grain ammo leads to cases that stick some and are hard to quickly extract. Shooting my "book" .327 handloads doesn't give this problem, as well as other factory loads that I was lucky enough to buy before the recent crisis. Those Federal loads are hot, hot, hot.

Here it is with two other 3" cousins, just because everyone likes pictures.
