I am still waiting to see one in the flesh. I buy guns like I buy shoes and boots. Got to try them on to see if they fit.
I bought this one sight unseen.
Figured if I didn't like it, I could always get my money back.

That's the story with mine, I consigned my other one yesterday along with a few other things. They are nice pistols, I liked the SAs way more than my C series HP, but I wasn't in love with them like my other SAO guns.

Congrats on the SA!

I got one a few weeks back. Got the BHSpring solutions kit and swapped out the extractor and disconnect lever plus most of the springs.

Runs great.

Just received a stock Belgian HP safety which I will swap on in place of the one that came stock.

They fall to hand and point perfectly for me even if they are just ever so slightly old school.

Let me know if you want to sell the SA 35 thumb safety.

My SA-35 extractor crapped out around 150 rounds. Caused FTF with 5 different mags and 3 different types of ammo. Took it home today yanked the extractor and the SA OEM extractor spring and it seems good to go. I installed a FN extractor and FN OEM extractor spring. Shot 10 rounds in the backyard and it seems good to go. Sent all 10 rounds into a pile where they should be. SA has a spring or extractor design issue. I personally think it is the spring.

I am sad. There are NO SA-35s in my neck of the woods. The shops around here get one in stock and it's gone in 15 minutes - usually before it hits the shelf. I'm on 2 lists at shops that say they'll call, but they both say they're not getting any now and they don't know when they will. Did I say I'm sad? (In the meantime, I do have the Browning I bought new in 1983, so it's not too bad.)

I feel pretty lucky to have snagged this one

Got one several months ago, and am very pleased...paid a little too much, but figured what the hell.
Nice fit and finish; mine has had exactly one failure to extract. Trigger is far better than some other HiPowers.
Runs fine on older HiPo magazines, as well as the brandy-new 15 round MecGars. The grips are nicely fit, and feel good in the hand. The three dot sights are a huge improvement on the fixed GI-type sights on some real Brownings.
Two things; the Springers are Turks, tho' much nicer finished, and with better triggers...got to handle a Turk the other day as well. Perhaps the parts arrive stateside, and are finished here.
And a gripe, mine has been leaching something white around the front sight dovetail. It wipes right off with Hoppes, but returns.

I like my Springfield SA-35. Accurate and reliable. Looks like Springfield got it right. Funny how Springfield singlehandedly resurrected demand and acceptance for a pistol that Browning took out of production. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at Browning when they saw the Springfield take off. I wonder if part of Browning’s decision to take the Hi-Power out of production may have been the result of machinery that was worn out, necessitating a considerable capital expenditure to continue the Hi-Power?
