I wasn't able to get a pic, but had a Bluejay land on the steel plate I was shooting at 300 meters. It flew away after the shot hit the plate.

I imagine it DID fly away "after the shot his the plate." Rather quickly I'll bet!

Can't say for sure but looked like it's legs were shaking as it flew away.

Of course that could have been my heartbeat from the 18x magnification.

This is The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog, definitely not a game animal, unless you regard King Arthur's use of The Holy Hand Grenade Of Antioch to defeat it "sport." Many lives were lost that day.

For the boys from Texas this may not be a big deal but for a Georgia boy this got my attention. We took my 2 oldest grand kids on a western roadtrip this summer. My 11 year old grand son almost stepped on this bad boy while camping near Amarillo. A while later, right at dark the 13 year old did the same. It was almost dark and she didn't see it. It became quite aggressive toward her.

Rough Greensnake.
Generally arboreal and eat insects. I've seen a few over the years in this area but not many. That one was just sitting in the middle of the trail I was walking down.
It really stuck out in the dry leaves.

Mrs. SPJ found herself a Grizzly track in the neighborhood today about 240 yards from our place. This one has a fairly good size stride also.

Granddaughter says "Why do geese cross the road, TO PISS OFF GRAMPA! It does too! It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't stop every 10 seconds to look around.

I have a very diverse piece of hunting land in Northern MN. In the 5 years I've owned it, I have captured Bobcat, Fisher, Marten, Flying Squirrel, Weasel, Mink, Otter (far away from open water), Timberwolf, Moose, Red and Gray fox (the gray really surprised me, well out of their normal range), and most every bird present in the area including a pileated woodpecker just before he hammered the objective lens on my camera.

Most recently, I captured a juvenile cougar, less than 6 months old and a possible video of Momma and 2 cubs a month prior(too foggy that morning to be conclusive). There is no breeding population in MN. BS. I have a very clear video of the juvenile with size references to 2 known age deer that passed the same trail in similar lighting that couldn't possibly have migrated from the Western Dakotas and it is presently under review by some concerned parties. They've asked me to take measurements and pictures of a couple of trees it passed in the video which I will do when I return to the property in a week. I'm still working on a good method to get my SD cards to talk to a computer.

Currently in Florida bears are non-game animals ... and they are everywhere. FWC has sold out to the Anti's.
Who needs a bear in their backyard ... or kitchen?

I just found this thread. I was hunting in very cold weather yesterday, and had a pair of cardinals sit on a branch about 6” from my .270 muzzle. I had my phone out, but it was so cold the screen was sluggish so no pics.

Red racer last summer. They're good snakes but aren't to be handled. They don't like it and will tell you right quick.
