Pietta new model Army / Navy ???

Can anyone tell me for sure if the 2012 Pietta 36 Cal Navy, by whatever name the retailer calls it is on the same frame as the 44 Army ?

I have heard that they are and I am just about to want one pretty bad, but I hesitate because if it's really same frame then I suspect it would be even more bulky with it's 6.5" bbl than the Pieatta 44 5.5" bbl.

Is this true???

The comparison chart from Cabela's catalog shows the .36 weighing an ounce more than the shorty .44.

Are you talking about the open top "Colt" replicas or the full frame "Remington"?

Uberti apparently makes one too, which is more like the original from what I understand. It doesn't show up at uberti.com, but does at ubertireplica.com. I sent them an email inquiring about the extra guns shown and they sent it to a distributor who sent me their link.

If, as I understand it, the Pietta's are built from the .44's it would have a very stout cylinder. A nice bonus I suppose.
