Springfields are basically "pre-70s", meaning that every part would interchange with USGI parts (possibly with some fitting).
Oops, except the firing pin and the locking mainspring housing they recently eliminated. I think the firing pin remains the smaller 9 mm size. The mainspring housings had an internal lock and modified internals. The housing would still interchange. I understand they have started building pistols without the mainspring lock (except for CA) though all of mine are older.
Oh, and the sights are a little different than GI.
