Dave I explained it in my post please go back and read it again. You have clearly never owned a Pardner Pump or a Norinco 870 copy so you have no experience to go by. The write up in GUNS & AMMO was featured in the "Shooter Proof House Jury" review. The Norinco was imported by IAC at the time. They are a small time importer. They don't spend money on ads in magazines to sway magazine gun critic's opinions like Remington and many other big names do.
Here is another review done on both the Express and the Pardner Pump. If you don't agree with the results of both reviews do your on and post it here on THR. I would be very interested in reading it and I am sure many others would too. I have around 100 guns in my collection that include all makes and models: Norinco 870 copy & Ithaca 37 copy, Colt, Ruger, Remington, Bushmaster, H&R NEF Excel auto 5, Mossberg, Winchester, (AKs: WASR 10, Arsenal, Norinco), Taurus, Springfield, Marlin, Glock, HK, Savage, Benelli, SIG, CZ, Browning, S&W, Beretta...ect I have my favorites but as you can see I have no real Brand Loyalty.
Another Test Review done on the Pardner Pump if anyone cares to read it.

The Pardner Pump is a steal of a deal. A much better deal than a new Remington 870 Express HD.
