Pistol Gripped 870....Ouch

^ The sad part is, they usually do that after shooting a few rounds and know how hard it kicks.

Thought I'd give an update...

I replaced the Hogue Tamer PG with a Speedfeed 'Birds head' grip and the difference in recoil is substantial. I tried #4, #2 and double 00 with the new grip and had a completely different experience than with the 'Tamer' grip. No more bone jarring recoil. With the new grip the recoil is very manageable. The Birds head grip made such a difference that I changed my mind about the practical applications this set up could have. I was also able to fire using the bead sight without any problems and I didn't lose any teeth.

Since I decided to keep the new grip on my 870 and not put the stock back on...well... I was forced to buy another shotgun that had a stock. Scored a LNIB Remington 870 Special Purpose Marine Magnum on Gunbroker and it is in transit as I type!
