Great pictures.
....
Once you start to photograph firearms and want them to look GOOD you realize it is not easy at all. The darker finishes like to go black with no detail, and it can be a real trick to control burned out highlights on the stainless ones. I can see that you used some indirect or 'bounced' and balanced light. I like your technique - it makes them look clean, smooth and enticing.
Sorry, I'm in the picture biz so I had to comment.

Looks great! I ahve most of those same guns, LOL

always searching for that next pose or shot. Always looking at things asking myself "Would that make a good backdrop?" hahaha

I pride myself in having some top notch beautiful guns, but my pictures of them frankly suck.:D

I admire someone who can take good gun pics.

Those are some very good pictures! You show good tech savvy with lighting and depth of field. Good stuff.

As long as I've had guns and cameras I've never done any gun pictures. I have lots of pictures of our group shooting...just no "gun specific" photos. I need to give this a try. :D

Thanks for sharing your work.

Kingofthehill,

The second shot caught my eye - the digital cammo and casings contrasts well with the pistol. The OD green band on the watch is a nice touch too. Great technique.

Kingofthehill, I too am a photographer and am impressed with your work especially the vignette around two of them. Oleg would be jealous

Thanks Dstoerm and Don!

Im confident with my setups and original photo's but i really need to work on my stuff in post. I need to try and learn real photo editing techniques and software.

As always, lighting means more than anything else when it comes to photography. I haven't pulled out my softbox yet but even some simple indirect bouncing produces some great results.

For those of you who are a bit more serious, Light: Science and Magic is about the best photography lighting book you'll find, bar none.

Me too :)! I'm so glad I have a digital camera: I'd go broke if I had to have film developed...just to see how awful my pics turned out:cuss:!
