Pool cue chalk in different colors. (cheap if you buy bulk)

Sidewalk chalk cut into ~1" pieces, generally cheaper than pool cue chalk, and you have the variety of the different colors.

Also, they tend to "poof" when you hit them, so you get a nice cloud of dust for instant gratification.

Home made 12" steel gong hanging from 4' chains from a tree. Just make shure you weld the chains on the upper most corners of the gong so you'll get that sweet ring when struck. I just paint it with that day glo orange ground marking paint from work.

It's 1/2" carbon steel plate and makes a great 200 to 300 range target for the calibers I'm using

One more, I also use the same marking paint and a big ole' piece of cardboard for grouping. Just lay it flat on the ground and with a little tip control you can get from dime size to half dollar "dots". I still haven't found out how many are in a can yet , but I haven't bought targets in years and it's always behind the seat in the truck.

Good shooting. Mule.

Small (12 oz.) soda bottles (plastic) filled with colored water. Just before you set them up, drop an Alka-Seltzer in each one & replace the cap.

By the time you get back to your shooting position, they'll be "ripe".

I use those self sealing prairie dog spinners with my Marlins 39A and 60. Kinda boring at the range I have available for the set up so I started using a 22 conversion on my 1911. It's fun again!

Also have a couple rolls of 2" round stickers, different colors. You can just keep slapping them up.

golf balls, action figures, anything filled with water, shaving cream cans, split playing cards, shooting dum dums candy off the sticks, etc.
