Any suggestions for a 9mm that can be carried in a front pocket of a pair of jeans?

I'm thinking maybe a Taurus 709 or a Beretta Nano.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Loose jeans maybe?
If it's striker fired a pocket holster is a necessity too.
My Walther PPS is as small as I'd want and is a no go.
Cargo pants maybe.

A list of smaller nines. I personally think the cut-off for a pocket pistol is right around 5.6" x 4" and weighing ≤ 17 ounces but that's just my opinion.

I carry a Kahr CM9 in a galco pocket holster in my front pocket. I typically wear relaxed style jeans, slacks, or cargo pants. The only time it's ever been an issue is getting on a horse while wearing traditional fit jeans (I'm a lefty).

The pistol is reliable and has a long smooth trigger pull.

I also like the SW shield and the Glock 43, on paper at least. I've never shot either.

Sir,
Thanks for the specs list.

I have a Shield and a LC9; sans the grip extension the LC9 carries better in a pocket for me.
I use a DeSantis holster.

I have a Kahr CM9 which I carry IWB with a DeSantis Sof-Tuck holster or on occasion inside my right front pocket with a DeSantis Nemesis holster.

Ditto. Same pistol, same methods. It works for me.

Might help to clarify "pocket carry". When I think of pocket carry, I think of the gun being inside my pocket, completely concealed and I don't think anything bigger than an LCP is comfortable for that.
I have seen several guys who say they pocket carry, but its more like appendix carry, only they clip the holster to the their pocket instead of their waistband. Grip of the gun is exposed and it requires a cover garment. Carrying in that manner would allow for a lot more choices.

If the OP really means "jeans", it would appear to me that it is a lot easier to get a pistol in your pocket than get it out (without an AD). I've got an LCP I could carry in the back pocket, not being especially "bootified", but nothing in the front except knife and money clip.

Yeah for Pocket carry that is completely concealed, a small .380 is my max. From time to time I'll carry my Nano in my back pocket with the grip exposed a bit with a long cover shirt. Not ideal, but it's not a great pocket gun anyway;)

I pocket carry and have a number of small 9mm pistols including a Nano, PM9, Solo, G43, and PPS. In my experience, the easiest to pocket carry is the Solo. That said the Nano, PM9, and G43 are also suited for pocket carry. The PPS, even with the 6 round magazine, is better suited for IWB or OWB carry. That said, I find my self carrying my G42 most of the time because it is even smaller and lighter weight than the 9's. I use a DeSantis Nemisis holster for all of the guns.

The Taurus 709 is one of my CC pistols. I usually jacket pocket carry, but in loose fitting jeans or cargos, it slips right into my front pocket. Also carry a Kel Tec P11 that way.

Smallest pocket 9mm I've personally seen I'd the Diamondback DB9, but I have zero practical experience with it.

When I pocket carry, it's generally at work while wearing loose fitting Dockers or dress pants. I carry in my right front pocket with using a Sticky Holster. The P938 and LC9S Pro conceal nicely. I haven't done so wearing jeans as I carry IWB then.

Having owned nearly all of them, the only one that is truly pocket comfortable is the DB9. After owning three different DP9s, I can say they are total garbage.

While others will physically fit in a pocket, none are comfortable or practical...never in a work/business setting.

I bought the Kahr PM9 with the intentions of pocket carry. I typically wear double pleated Khakis. I bought a Alesi pocket holster for it.
I tried and tried but for my personal taste it is just too heavy for pocket carry. I later bought and IWB and of course that works great but I bought the gun strictly for pocket carry as I have others for IWB.
Now I pocket carry the LCP and as far as comfort etc, it works quite well. I think that for pocket carry the gun needs to be 11-12 oz. max, YMMV....

I have, at one time or another, pocket carried a KelTec PF9, Beretta Nano, Taurus 709, and a Sig 938. All in holsters and all completely inside my front pocket. (I normally wear cargo pants.) I still own the Sig. With a good holster it slips in and out easily.
I also own and occasionally carry a Glock 42, but you didn't ask about 380s.
They're both a little heavy, but I'm a big guy and get used to the weight pretty quickly.

i'll stick with the glock 19 in the pocket. may be pushing the limits but im not a fan of semi auto pea shooters.

i use the thinnest pocket holster i can find. put glock 19 in it then pocket it. my other front pocket has a 30 round glock mag.

i do this with jeans but prefer cargo pants/shorts. i don't tuck shirt.

It sounds crazy but I pocket carried a Beretta PX4 subcompact 9mm for a couple of years. I did have to take it with me when I bought pants to make sure it cleared the pockets but it was not hard to find pants or a pocket holster to hold it.

I was originally going to get a Nano but it just never felt very comfortable in my hands. It felt way too small and I have pretty small hands too.
