(please mods, don't transfer this to the no-mans land known as the holster forum)

Can anyone recommend a good pocket holster for a LCR? I have a DeSantis Nemesis that's for a j-frame, and according to DeSantis also fits the LCR, but I'm not happy with it -- a tiny bit of the trigger is still exposed when the gun is fully in the holster.

So, recommendations?

Crap... I was coming in here to say desantis lol. I like mine... I've considered getting a leather one but I feel like that might make me sweat a little more than a fabric one that breathes a little.

If you want something like that you could look at sideguardholsters, he seems to make an affordable but good-quality product. I'm thinking about getting his minimal snap IWB sooner or later.

harmon rabb,

Have a look at Mika custom pocket holders, I've used one in the past and quite liked it.

I use the #4 Blackhawk for my LCR357 and my J-Frames. It is a little larger than the #3 and stays in the larger pockets better.

I'm using an Uncle Mike's #4 on my LCR38, the 3 is recommend for the J-frames, but is to tight on the LCR trigger guard.

I have 3 Safariland pocket holsters they all look the same but have different #s. They are to fit 25-01 S&W. They are suede on the outside and a slick plastic like surface inside. I carry a Kimber carry ll and a 2" .44sp in my right hip pocket. The suede keeps the holster in the pocket while the inside lining give for smoothe extraction. My wife has her LCR in one which has various methods of carry.

I'll second the Mika suggestion. He custom makes each holster so any specs you have can usually be accommodated. It also doesn't hurt that he is quick and very reasonably priced.

I have a Mika for an LCR .38. It's too large for the chinos I wear so I could never fit it in my jeans.

It took five weeks to receive it. I personally don't think that's real quick for that kind of holster.

I ordered it over the internet. He did not acknowledge receipt of the order. He also did not notify me when the holster was shipped.

It was shipped USPS in a cheap, cardboard envelope which was not even remotely crush-proof. It should have been shipped in a box as far as I'm concerned.

Otherwise, everything was wonderful.

Water-man, my experience was the exact opposite. I emailed Mr. Mika and immediately recieved confirmation. He offered my options and made sure he had the order exactly as I specified. A week later he emailed me to let me know it shipped and about three days later I had my holster. I recieved my holster in a sturdy cardboard box sealed in bubble wrap surrounded by foam peanuts. As for the size of the holster, are you using a round or square cut and what gun is it for? When I pocket carry its a 637 and I only do it in baggy shorts. No matter what holster I use (and I have a bunch of pocket holsters) I find the 637 just too big for my pants pockets. However when I wear shorts, the Mika is the most comfortable.

the LCRs have very limited holster options made for them, they usually have to bite on a rig made for another gun.

skt239,

You have to read a little more carefully.

I said an LCR in my post. That's what the OP asked about. He didn't ask about your 637.

I'm happy for you that you're a satisfied customer of Mika but that doesn't mean everybody else is.

Eh, I've decided to give Mika a try. Thanks for the suggestions bros. Only $30, so if I don't like it, no great loss.

Perhaps I should mention that this is for my wife who carries in her purse (yes, not ideal, trust me, I've explained this to her 10x, but it's better than nothing), so the fact the Mika holsters seem a bit thick looks like a bonus to me.

Why not check into a Remora. You can use it for pocket and IWB if you chose too.
