Thanks to a generous friend, I was able to acquire a LNIB Colt Government Pocketlite.
This little jewel looks and functions largely like a 1911 that has been forgotten in the dryer for a few cycles. It weighs in the neighborhood of 15 ounces, and it is surprisingly comfortable in the hand. Since it functions in a similar manner, it would make an excellent backup and hot weather stand-in piece for a 1911.
Although they make smaller .380s now, namely the Guardian 380 and the Kel-Tec P3AT, the little Colt is still small and light enough to fit into a pocket without trouble, and folks with big hands may even prefer the more substantial hold.
