Polish trigger groove?

I am replacing the stock trigger in my Springfield GI .45 with a Chip McCormick. I'm wondering if I should polish the groove the shoe sits in to reduce or eliminate any drag on the trigger, or is that even an issue? If yes, then what should I use to polish it? (Amateur alert here. I don't have professional tools, and am not brave/stupid enough to get a dremel).

For a firearm such as the Springfield that is really a non-issue. Even on a couple of my top end guns I've never felt the need to polish them.

Thanks for the reply. Once I got it installed, it was apparent that it was not needed.
