Political Parties asking for money

I keep getting requests for money from both major political parties. They seem to think I'm either 'one of them' or kindly disposed, at least. I get more requests from the Republican party than the Democratic party. (I'm registered Libratarian, by the way.) I just got one today and sent them this reply. If you're a Democrat, fine; you may want to alter this somewhat.

My idea is if enough people send something with this sentiment, perhaps - just perhaps - they'll get the idea. It may not work, but it can't hurt.

Before you get any of my money, you - Republicans - will do - that is, actually accomplish - two things.

1. You will repeal Federal legislation banning the manufacture and importation of machine guns; you will strip the 'sporting use' clause from the BATFE vocabulary and you will repeal the Gun Control Act of 1968 and all the associated bull**** laws thereunto pertaining.

2. You - Republicans - will publicly reverse your stand on the search warrant served on Representative Jefferson's office; you will publicly announce, state, aver and pronounce the members of Congress are citizens and subject to being investigated, searched and indicted in the same sense as all other citizens.

You want my money? Produce.

Will Democrats get elected if I don't send you money? So far, there's no difference between you.


And , please don't be so stupid as to try to 'explain' things to me. I understand; now YOU understand. No gun control repeal, no money. No submission to legal searches, no money.

This may be much like passing gas; no one wants to know about it and the effects are short lived, but I still feel better afterward.

now that i think about it, we should probably have a sticky thread to compile correspondence to bureaucrats
 
for some time now.well over a year,i have written on the return envelopes for the candidate to go to the mexican border with a tin can and ask for donations from their real constituents,and talk to bush,he can get you a good exchange rate on pesos from vincente.
 
They already steal a percentage of my income from me at gunpoint - why would I send them more money?

You're not serious, I hope. The search of Jefferson's office was performed by LEOs of the Executive branch, pursuant to a search warrant issued by the Judicial branch.

Please cite the words in the Constitution that exempt sitting members of Congress from obeying the law and prohibiting the Executive branch from enforcing said law.

Or did I misunderstand your words?

I get so much crap from the GOP I just throw it away these days. I stopped sending them money early last year. They haven't given me a good reason to start again. Democrats? They would have to kick a lot of their leaders out of office to get any support from me.
 
Yeah, I think it was Hastert that started saying they shouldn't have searched his office. Really stupid of him to get involved IMHO.

I think the cops should run bribery stings on each of the Congressmen at least once a year.
 
I started using their postage paid envolopes to send messages and no money to them years ago. You guys are just figuring this out? If a large % of the responses they got were along the lines of "not until you really stand up for my gun rights" they might actually start doing the right thing.

In the last 15 years or so I have gotten 2 such requests from the Dems and after I did the above to both they stopped asking me for money. I must have done this 100 time to the Repubs and they still keep asking for money and they still do not get it.
 
If there is no check or CC info they will simply trash it. Fill out FAKE information and they will run the CC number, and be charged the processing fee... having to pay for the decline. THAT will get thier attention as you are spending THIER money.

Google 'CC test numbers' if you want to send them a CC number that will not fail, but also simply not get them any money.. but they will still type it in and try it.

At what point did you really believe that politicians cared what you thought?
 
I know they don't care what I think and have not for a long time.

Even if they just trash it it still costs them money because they have to pay the postage. I suspect that at the very least they track what % of these come back with no check/CC#/money. If the % gets high enough they might start asking why this is happening.
 
Dont these political types get cranky when you give them some truth!

Last time I went to vote this silver haired lady approached me smiling and offered me a Liberal Party "how to vote" card(that's the party of Prime MInister John (I hate Guns) Howard).

I pointed to two badges I was wearing on the lapel of my jacket and said something like "This is my union badge, and this is my SSAA (Sporting Shooter's Association of Australia) badge, don't you even think of offering that Liberal Party garbage to me". Gee, she got upset!

And this would be bad how?
