hi I’m working on a polymer 80 build can anyone give me tips? My frame is done but I can’t get my rails in the rear one seems off on one side I think if I enlarge the side of the rail it’ll all line up fine but currently it’s slightly off. Then the front rails are wider than the frame I tried putting them in the freezer but still too big. Seems the only way is to remove meterial on the frame, but I don’t want to just hack away stuff without getting someone else’s opinion.

I've built two of them and it's a little hard to get the holes exactly right to line up with the inserts. On the rear you might try putting in the pin from the other side, and light deburr on the holes in the rail insert can help get the pin started through.

The front rails ARE a tight fit....light bevel on the bottom to help get it started without shaving material off of the grip and PUSH. You might have to use some mechanical advantage like a vise to help if your hand strength can't get it to go. Don't worry...it'll go in.:) For sure it's not a drop-in fit and tight is good...makes for a solid assembly once you get it fully home. The pins just make sure it's not going to move under recoil.

Be sure the web you remove for the recoil spring has the walls matching the rail insert once it's fully home or the spring will drag and tie up the gun.

Yes that front rail block can be as tuff as trying to get a cat’s @## in a bucket of water.
I had the same problem with the front rail block on my second build. Just remove a little off the top edge of the inside of the frame, and use a mallet to tap it in.
On my first build I had pretty much the same problem with the rear rail. One side was just a touch of. I just used a drill while the block was in the frame to remove the little that was not lining up. I have over 500 rounds through it now and no problems.
You can call Polymer 80 and they will help you out.
