Saw one at the gun show yesterday; they were asking $895. I passed, since I had a $600 budget.

Was this a good price, presuming that it haD no USGI parts in it? (I couldn't check and wouldn't know what to look for if I could have checked, but I'll presume that it's as-shipped from China...)

It was clean with no external finish wear or stock dings, but the internals showed cycling wear. I am unedumacated enough relative to these rifles that I couldn't tell you the difference betwen hand-cycled and used. It had a box.

As usually happens to me at gun shows, I seem to have a cloak of invisibility that precludes anyone from noticing me and offering to answer my questions. Otherwise, I would have asked for some info on the rifle.

I'm far from an expert, but I would say a decent price would be around eight hundred. You might check TheM14forums or Riflecountry.com for more info. There are some really diehard M14 fans on those sites.

I know what you mean about the cloak. I guess I had mine on today. Looked at a Saiga .308 for three-sixty out the door three times. Oh well, I really need an FAL receiver anyways.

I think 800 is about par, but certainly not a real good deal.

I've seen a couple under 700, and several between 7 & 8. Wish I woulda bit on the 600frn one.:banghead: Heck, I saw a stripped reciever go for 475 last week.:uhoh:

I wouldn't mind having one if I could find it cheap enough, but if I did, it would immediately find itself in the "awaiting a USGI build" line.;)
