Ponderings (article)

That's very interesting indeed. I always wondered what they meant by a "grenade launcher"...I had always pictured the thing underneath an M16 barrel. That seems unnecessary, and looks evil. An SKS grenade launcher has probably been on there for years, is useless (to nearly all people), just creates more headache, and frankly, doesn't look that evil. Heck, I bet nearly all non-gun people would have no idea what they're looking at...and most gun people wouldn't either.

I must remove the flash suppressor. And then I must either saw the threaded end off the barrel, or cover it with a "muzzle brake". . . but only if I solder the muzzle brake in place with solder having a melting point of 1100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. If I use solder with a melting point of 1000 degrees F, for example, it's off to jail with me.

I guess I must have missed that part of the Second Amendment.

We have these problems because we don't have the collective will to make our senators and representstives change it. Eighty million nationwide would change their minds immediately. Never happen because of things like .45acp is better than 9mm. We are divided and they will keep us this way.

Put the article in a trophy case.

Then when some nincompoop claims the US gun industry is unregulated, whip out the article and paste it on 'em.

I maintain if it were possible to impose the same rules on golf as is imposed on shooting sports, we'd see an end to 90% of the horse puckey we endure.

Good article.

"Please don't ask where I might possibly obtain an obsolete Austrian grenade"

Well, when I was still in the business, we had one. Obviously deactivated (and I really don't recall where we originally obtained it- this was a bunch of years ago...) and it was always a hoot to mount it on my old FAL and leave it on the rack and watch the eyes bug out.

Always wanted to find a nice piece of open property and actually fire the darn thing with the gas switch turned to "g" and a blank.

Wonder how far it would have gone...
